Ruth Le Gear : ‘Lab 2’ of Le Gear’s collaborative, long distance residency and exhibition with the ATELIER MELUSINE : August 01 - September 25 2021

The exhibition will open as the second atelier/laboratory space showing the workings and final outcomes Ruth Le Gears ‘Women and Water’ project. Interwoven with a series Irish of music and poetry/spoken word events throughout August and September 2021.
The gallery will create a working research space where the public can visit to see the exhibition elements and development in process as well as participate in the return of the waters to their three sources.

Ruth Le Gear : 'Lab 2' de la résidence collaborative à distance et de l'exposition de Le Gear avec l'ATELIER MELUSINE : 01 août - 25 septembre 2021

L'exposition s'ouvrira comme le deuxième atelier/laboratoire montrant les travaux et les résultats finaux du projet "Women and Water" de Ruth Le Gear. Elle sera entrelacée avec une série d'événements irlandais de musique et de poésie/parole pendant les mois d'août et septembre 2021.
La galerie créera un espace de recherche où le public pourra se rendre pour voir les éléments de l'exposition et le développement en cours, et participer au retour des eaux à leurs trois sources.

Lab 2 Opens - lamas 2021

The first of August 2021, Lamas Day was the busiest day La Trimouille had seen in recent memory. 1000’s of people descended into the river valley town for the first annual Brocante in two years. We performed the final return of collected waters at 16.00 in the midsts of the large crowds, with people safely watching from the bridge and river banks. The waters slipped from the metal into the cool liquid and sat on the surface like two frozen lilies before diminishing in the warmth of the sunlight and sliding over the weir, heading north in the river Benaize.

Le 1er août 2021, jour de la fête des Lamas, a été le jour le plus chargé que La Trimouille ait connu de mémoire d'homme. Des milliers de personnes sont descendues dans la ville de la vallée de la rivière pour la première Brocante annuelle depuis deux ans. Nous avons effectué le retour final des eaux collectées à 16h00 au milieu de la foule, sous le regard attentif des gens depuis le pont et les berges de la rivière. Les eaux ont glissé du métal dans le liquide froid et sont restées à la surface comme deux nénuphars gelés avant de diminuer dans la chaleur du soleil et de glisser par-dessus le déversoir, se dirigeant vers le nord dans la rivière Benaize.

Shíolraigh 1000 duine isteach i mbaile ghleann na habhann don chéad Brocántacht bhliantúil i dhá bhliain. Shocraíomar filleadh deiridh na n-uiscí bailithe a dhéanamh ag 16.00 i measc na sluaite móra, agus daoine ag faire go sábháilte ó bhruach an droichid agus na habhann. Shleamhnaigh na huiscí ón miotal isteach sa leacht fionnuar agus shuigh siad ar an dromchla cosúil le dhá lilies reoite sular laghdú i dteas sholas na gréine agus ag sleamhnú thar an aisteach, ag dul ó thuaidh in abhainn na Benaize.

Lab 2 : Results

Lab 2 is now open in the ATELIER MELUSINE, by appointment and will evolve over the next five weeks to include water, glass, audio-visual, textual, painted, printed, photographic works and research materials. Vernissage 11/09/21.
Le Gear and Annett will be working across the divide of the Irish Sea in digital and real world media, building the exhibition in realtime and encouraging the public to participate in the events and interpretations.

Le Lab 2 est maintenant ouvert sur rendez-vous à La Trimouille et évoluera au cours des cinq prochaines semaines pour inclure de l'eau, du verre, des œuvres audiovisuelles, textuelles, peintes, imprimées, photographiques et des matériaux de recherche. Vernissage le 11/09/21. Le Gear et Annett travailleront à travers le fossé de la mer d'Irlande dans les médias numériques et réels, construisant l'exposition en temps réel et encourageant le public à participer aux événements et aux interprétations.
