A Call for Scarlet Women

We have been developing a project which addresses the ideas and concepts of the ‘Scarlet Woman’, be she a pariah feminist or an exemplar/avatar of the divine feminine.
The work looks at the embodiments, images, concepts, desires, fears and sorrows around the notion of the ‘Scarlet Woman’, whether she is represented by a biblical Jezebel, a whore of Babalon or the Divine of John Walters infamy. Conversely, she may be a Madonna (Catholic or Pop Icon) or Maria. For Annett’s part she is a Melusine for Hedenborg White the divine entity envisioned in early 20th-century Western esotericism” The construct of the Scarlet Femme is not confined to fantasy of the biologically female and we have solicited responses from all.
Over 25 international artists, writers and academics have been invited to participate in the events and exhibitions which, will take place in the real world and on line into the spring of 2022

Un appel pour les femmes écarlates

Nous avons développé un projet qui traite des idées et des concepts de la "femme écarlate", qu'elle soit une féministe paria ou un exemplaire/avatar du divin féminin.
Le travail se penche sur les incarnations, les images, les concepts, les désirs, les peurs et les chagrins qui entourent la notion de "femme écarlate", qu'elle soit représentée par une Jézabel biblique, une putain de Babylone ou la Divine de l'infamie John Walters. A l'inverse, elle peut être une Madone (icône catholique ou pop) ou Maria. Quant à Annett, elle est une Mélusine pour Hedenborg White, l'entité occulte/divine créée dans l'ésotérisme occidental du début du 20e siècle. La construction de la Femme Ecarlate ne se limite pas au fantasme de la femme biologiquement féminine et nous avons sollicité des réponses de tous.
Plus de 25 artistes, écrivains et universitaires internationaux ont été invités à participer aux événements et expositions qui auront lieu dans le monde réel et en ligne au printemps 2022.
