Glorious textures and colours - hand woven
Textile Artist Beverley Hicklin BA has opened her stunning new studio Atelier Quinze in La Trimouille, 86290. Fr., in the midst of and despite, the pandemic. The three storey building has been beautifully restored and offers space for artists and visitors to come to see the traditional process of making woven textiles, enroll on a course or class, or book space to work alongside Hicklin.
There is a boutique attached to the atelier where it is possible to buy fine craft works, clothes, scarves, jewellry and various, gorgeous bags, wallets, cushions and more exquisite bijouterie.

Hicklin has two looms with which she creates her glorious textiles, but she is also a seamstress and designer so can be commissioned to develop fabrics, soft furnishings, clothes, bags and additionally uses marbling and glass making techiques and creates delicate, colourful jewellry and accessories.
It is wonderful that more artisanal and creative life has been breathed back into the small town of La Trimouille, once the key staging post on the River Benaize; the only major crossing point between Le Blanc (Indre) and Le Dorat (Haute Vienne/Limousin). It now boasts three fine contemporary arts and craft venues, which offer courses in painting, textiles, printmaking, jewellry and paper making.
Our next Balades des Artistes will take place in November 2020, watch this space…
